Last Saturday night, the Aireborough Rugby Union Football Club held their Age Grade teams awards night at the Guiseley Theatre. The event was attended by players, coaches, and families of the club's age-grade teams, from Micro's to the Under 16's, who were all excited to celebrate the achievements of the season and recognise all the players.
The event saw each age grade team presented with awards. While some teams opted to give all the team medals, the majority of the older teams recognised individual achievements by giving awards for Spirit of Rugby, Most Improved Player, Coaches Player of the Year, and Players Player of the Year. The awards were a testament to the hard work, dedication, and team spirit of all the players.
During the awards ceremony, Rob Rattray, Lee Paynter, and Kris Brook were all given special mentions and appreciation for their long service to the club as they are now stepping down from their roles. The club also thanked the outgoing Junior Chairman Andrew Wood for his years of dedication and commitment to the club and for the outstanding work he has done in helping to develop the junior section of the club.
The event was made even more special by the presence of the club's new kit sponsors. Make It Happen, Sandiford Associates, Calibre Search, Yorkshire Orthodontics, Select Uniforms, and Northern BL°C who all contributed significantly to the club, ensuring that the coaches have the resources they need to develop the players and teams for the next three years. Northern BL°C even brought ice cream for all the kids, adding to the excitement and enjoyment of the evening!
The Guiseley Theatre, staff, and volunteers deserve a special mention for hosting the event and making it a night to remember. The event was a huge success, and all those in attendance had a great time celebrating the achievements of the season. The club, coaches and players are now looking forward to building on the success of 22/23 and continuing to grow and develop as a club in the coming year.
